Adafi was founded in December 1975. Our initial goal was to provide services in the field of accounting, fiscality and administration. This goal quickly expanded to providing services in the field of information technology, especially in the early ‘80s when the first professional personal computers came about.

One of the co-founders of Adafi, Denis Frederickx, had already developed an accounting program for ourselves and some customers, which initially ran on Wang minicomputers. In 1983, this program was adjusted for the Wang Microcomputer in dBase and shortly after that for IBM compatible PCs. In the years to come, it was available in dBase II, III, FoxBase and FoxPro.

Adafi provided – and still provides - computer hardware as well as other standard software. In the 2nd half of the ‘80s through the first half of the ‘90s, we focused mainly on security products, such as UPS or Uninterruptible Power Supplies and data and piracy protection products.

Since 1989, we have been working with and involved in the sale of contact management software. Tracker Software was an Australian company, that first ran under the name Softcode. Tracker was a DOS based contact manager system since 1987; in 1993, Tracker for Windows was released and Adafi became an official Tracker Distributor for Benelux. In 1997, Tracker Software was purchased by Maximizer Technologies, another provider of contact management software in Canada, and this merger resulted in Multiactive Software. Adafi obviously followed the Multiactive group and became an official Maximizer Business Partner. And still is today.
Maximizer Enterprise, the full-blown version of Maximizer with a Pervasive database engine, is also available for the Microsoft SQL Server platform, and has grown in functionality and philosophy, hence has moved into the CRM (Customer Relationship Management) market.

In 1999, Adafi was facing a major decision about its accounting software package: adjust the current version, which was still a DOS based system, for the year 2000 and for the Euro – or develop a new one for the Windows platform. We decided to do neither and chose to resell Unit4-Multivers for Windows, developed by Unit4-Agresso, a Dutch based group with a major office in Antwerp. We have been an official Unit4 Dealer since then.

Today, Adafi focuses primarily on Customer Relationship Management and Accounting software, as well as on products and services that are linked to either of those. We no longer provide accounting and fiscal services ourselves; another organization has taken over those activities.

 |
Our goal is to make the customer happy by providing a solution that works and that helps the customer's organization be more successful in whatever activities it is involved in. Dedication is our key word!
